Kachina's Story

Kachina is a stocky, unbranded Mustang mare. She is a beautiful frosty pinto color. Kachina is a mustang hailing from the Virginia range in Nevada. Her name means "Spirit dancer". Her parents were rounded up and she was subsequently born in captivity.

Kachina has been working in the roundpen. She is very responsive. Her movements are agile and quick. Based on how she moves, we think that she may make a good barrel horse. She has taken a saddle pad on her back before. She has not been introduced to the saddle yet, but is ready for the next steps in her training journey!

For haltering, sometimes it may take some patience in the beginning but she can be haltered. She is getting better and will continue to get better with consistency. Once the halter is on, she leads and ties (impatiently). When she trusts you, she will allow you to pick up her feet.

Kachina can be quite a nervous/cautious lady. She would thrive with an experienced handler and consistent training to build her confidence.

Kachina is up to date on vaccinations and deworming.
